Fimmvörðuháls Trail

Starting at the famous Skógafoss waterfall and ending at the Þórsmörk Nature Reserve or vice versa. The trail offers a diverse range of scenery along its approximately 25-kilometer (15.5-mile) stretch. Hikers will encounter volcanic landscapes, moss-covered lava fields, glacial rivers, and panoramic vistas that showcase the raw beauty of Iceland’s highlands. The trail also passes by two impressive volcanic craters, Magni and Móði, formed during the 2010 eruption of Eyjafjallajökull.

Tindfjallahringur Trail

Valahnúkur Trail

The trail takes you up the slopes of Valahnúkur, a prominent mountain in the Þórsmörk area. As you ascend, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the rugged mountains, glacial valleys, and glacial rivers that characterize Þórsmörk. Reaching the top of Valahnúkur provides a magnificent view of the surrounding area as well as Eyjafjallajökull glacier.
