Who is The Grumpy Whale?
The Grumpy Whale emerged from the love of adventure in every corner of Iceland.
Our name was chosen on a long hike in the Hvalfjordur (Whale Fjord) area while sharing stories about the local folklore around a grumpy whale. Read more about why our whale is so grumpy here.
We started off producing luxury hot chocolates to keep you warm and cosy while exploring the sometimes harsh Icelandic nature.
The folklore that inspired our name then inspired us to write and illustrate The Grumpy Whales Children’s children’s book. We hope our little book will inspire great adventures. The story has environmental, friendship and redemption themes
We have now expanded further to take you on our adventures with us. We are a fully licensed day tour provider from the Icelandic Tourist Board and can help you plan the perfect Iceland adventure of your dreams!

Becca
Owner/ Founder/CEO/Guide
Becca has a background as a Scuba Instructor and Adventurer Driver guide here in Iceland with a Masters in Sustainable Tourism Management. She is an advid hot chocolate lover and is happiest exploring (with hot chocolate in hand!).
Biggi
Co-Owner/ Lead Guide
Becca´s husband. Biggi is an experienced adventure and wilderness guide. His knowledge of Icelandic history and nature is incredible. His is happiest when in the mountains and cannot wait to take you there. He also loves taking photos. Check out his website here.
