The Grumpy Whale set sail on a literary adventure, and the response was nothing short of spectacular! On the 1st of October 2023, our stand at Whales of Iceland transformed into a hub of excitement and joy as we welcomed over 200 enthusiastic individuals to celebrate The Grumpy Whale book launch. The event turned out to be a whaley great success, leaving us thrilled and eager to continue the journey.
Partnering with Whales of Iceland Museum, children’s entertainers Prinssesur, and sensory play experts Pláneta, we curated a family-friendly experience that combined entertainment, education, and, of course, the star of the show – The Grumpy Whale.
An Ocean of Activities:
The event buzzed with activity, featuring a delightful partnership with children’s entertainers Prinssesur and sensory play experts Pláneta. The Grumpy Whale took center stage, hosting engaging activities for attendees of all ages. From coloring sessions that brought the characters to life to whale-themed games that sparked both laughter and curiosity, everyone found something to enjoy.

Prinssesur, the enchanting mermaid princess, and a lively pirate added a magical touch to the event. Their presence brought smiles to the faces of both young and old. Attendees had the opportunity to take pictures with the characters, receive sparkly ocean temporary tattoos, and even collect shiny gold coins, creating lasting memories of a magical day at Whales of Iceland.
Pláneta, the sensory play experts, transformed a corner of our stand into an ocean-themed wonderland. Using pasta ‘coral’, soft sand, and ocean creatures, they created a sensory experience that not only entertained but also educated participants about marine life. The children explored the depths of the ocean with their senses, fostering a connection between learning and play.
